• The top table is a two-piece plate of medium grain spruce.
• The back table is a two-piece plate of highly flamed maple with the flame descending from the center joint.
• The ribs are of matching character to the back table and have maple outer moldings adjoining the top and back tables.
• The neck and scroll are original of widely flamed maple.
• The gears are individual brass tuning gears inlaid into the cheeks of the scroll.
• Varnish is a deep reddish brown.
• This fine example of German Hawkes workmanship, truly has amazing depth and projection in all registers. It is equally and amazing orchestral and jazz instrument of the highest quality
