Top is a two piece table of medium vertical grain spruce
Back is a one piece table of Black English Poplar cut on the slab. Ribs are matching character Poplar to that of the back table with overlayed Poplar cornerblocks. The scroll is of Poplar with a slight figured maple neckgraft. The varnish is a deep reddish brown color and amber hues, quite antiqued in nature. This bass projecting edge  and has amazing power and darkness in all registers.  Although a larger dimensioned Bass, the D. Montagnana Model Bass has a most unusual ease of playing facilities, Orchestrally and Solo.
