Full size the top table is a two piece plate of fine vertical grained spruce. The back table is a one piece plate of moderately flamed maple. The ribs are of matching character maple to that of the back table. The scroll and neck are both original of moderately flamed maple. The varnish is a light reddish brown. The violin is in excellent condition.
In 1905, Marsigliese settled in Rome for the study of the double bass and this is where his passion for violin making begins. In 1949 he received a gold medal in Cremona for a double bass (stunning), still visible at the Stradivarian museum in Cremona.

The back table is a two-piece plate of moderately flamed maple slightly descending from the center joint. The ribs are of matching character to that of the back table. The neck and scroll are originall of slightly figured maple. The color of the varnish is a deep reddish brown. The instrument is in mint condition.
