Full-cut 3/4 Size, Violin Cornered, Round Back
Made in the Venice, Italy c. 1732
- Top table is a five-piece plate ranging in grain from partial slab-cut fir at the outer flank sections to full slab-cut fir at the center section
- Back table is a five-piece plate of beautifully figured slab cut poplar
- Ribs of matching poplar to that of the back table
- Scroll and neck are original of plainer grained pearwood
- Decorative individual brass tuning gears mounted on brass plates
- Varnish is deep brownish amber color with reddish hues
- This bass has been expertly reduced in dimesion. The bass offers a masterful tonal quality with great beauty. The tone has great depth and projection with eveness in all registers.
