Formerly owned by world-renowned Jazz Bassist Arvel Shaw
This historic pedigree bass was played with Louis Armstrong and can be seen
being played by Arvel Shaw in the movie “High Society”.
The top table is a two-piece sectional table of medium vertical grain spruce
back is a two-piece sectional table of figured maple
Ribs of matching character figured maple to that of the back table
There are decorative Prescott outer molding adjoining top and back tables on all ribs
The scroll is original of plain grain maple with a highly flamed maple neck graft.
Gears – brass individual tuners mounted on brass plates.
The varnish is a magnificent deep reddish-brown color.
