Modified 7/8 Size, Violin-cornered, Roundback
Made in Cremona, Italy c. 1864
- Top table is a two-piece wide vertical grained spruce
- Back table is a two-piece plate of slightly figured poplar cut on the modified slab. Lower wing added to the left lower rib bout of the back table.
- Ribs of matching poplar to that of the back table
- Original scroll of plain grained poplar with a plain grained maple neck graft
- Individual brass tuning gears
- Varnish is light brownish amber with reddish hues
- This is a wonderful example to Enrico Ceruti workmanship in fully restored condition. Great tonal qualities for both arco and jazz purposes. Extremely impressive evenness in all registers and deep lush projecting sound. A masterful Bass.
