Made in Turin, Italy c. 1760
- Former property of bass pedagog, David Perlman
- Top table is a four-piece plate of spruce ranging from modified slab-cut at the center to fine vertical grained
- Back table is a two-piece plate of slightly figured poplar
- Ribs of matching poplar to that of the back table
- Original scroll of plain grained maple with a slightly flamed maple neck graft
- Individual Baker style tuning gears
- Varnish is a magnificent deep reddish brown with amber hues
- This instrument is one of the most glorious orchestral basses; great depth and projection; even in all registers; one of the finest instruments ever to enter the Kolstein collection
