7/8 Size, Violin Cornered, Flat Back Model
Made in Padua, Italy c. 1760
- Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained fir
- Back table is a two-piece plate of slab-cut willow
- Ribs of matching willow to that of the back table
- Original scroll with an extra volute of plain grained pearwood with a moderately flamed maple neck graft
- Individual brass tunning gears mounted on decorative brass plates
- Varnish is deep reddish brown
- This is a wonderful example of Danielli’s workmanship. It is one of the finest orchestral basses; great sonority, depth of sound, and tonal projection.
