Top table is a multi-piece plate of slab-cut fir
Back table is a two-piece plate of sycamore, ranging in grain from flamed at the center joint to modified slab-cut outer flanks
Ribs of moderately flamed sycamore
Original scroll of slightly figured sycamore with a highly flamed maple neck graft
Individual brass tuning gears mounted on brass plates
Varnish is deep reddish brown with amber hues
Extremely fine example of Devereux workmanship for the period he worked in Melborne Austrailia. Master orchestral Bass; even in all registers with impressive projection and great depth.
