7/8 Size, Gamba Shaped, Flatback Model
Made in Mittenwald, Germany c. 1820
- Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce
- Back table is a two-piece plate of moderately flamed maple
- Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table with maple outer moldings adjoining the top and back tables
- Original scroll of plain grained maple with a moderately flamed maple neck graft
- Individual brass tuning gears mounted on brass plates
- Varnish is dark reddish brown
- Fully restored to excellent condition
- Overall body length: 45 1/2 in.
- Width at the upper bout: 21 1/2 in.
- Width at the center bout: 14 1/2 in.
- Width at the lower bout: 27 3/4 in.
- Mensure (string length): 41 7/8 in.
