Made in Paris, France c. 1840
- This Bass Violin is the former property of Jazz great and pedagog, Mr. Eddie Gomez
- Top table is two-piece fine vertical grained spruce
- Back table is two-piece moderately flamed maple
- Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
- Original scroll of plain grained maple with a plain grained maple neck graft
- Traditional French inlaid brass tuning gears
- Varnish is deep reddish brown
- Tonal qualities: deep, strong projecting sound; excellent for both orchestral and jazz requirements
- Fully restored to excellent condition
- Overall body length: 45 in. (114 cm.)
- Width at the upper bout: 21 1/2 in. (54.6 cm.)
- Width at the center bout: 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.)
