Made in London, England c. 1810
Certification: Original William E. Hill & Son letter c. 1944
- Top table is a two-piece plate of slab-cut English pine (spruce)
- Back table is a two-piece plate of plain grained maple. Back table bears the maker’s brand
- Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
- Original scroll of slightly figured English maple with a plain grained maple neck graft
- Baker style brass tuners mounted on decorative brass plates
- Varnish is deep brownish amber with reddish hues
- This bass is one of the finest examples of the most rare flatback designed V. Panormo workmanship and is truly one of the great master level basses that the Kolstein shop has been privileged to have in inventory. An impeccable bass violin in every tonal and aesthetic aspect.
