7/8 Size, Gamba Shaped, Round Back
Made in Manchester, England c. 1841
- Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce
- Back table is a two-piece plate of moderately flamed maple, branded with the maker’s brand, W. Tarr, below the neck block button
- Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
- Original scroll of plain grained maple with a moderately flamed maple neck graft
- Baker style tuning gears mounted on brass plates
- Varnish is deep brownish amber
- Excellent condition
- Overall body length: 46 1/4 in.
- Width at the upper bout: 23 in.
- Width at the center bout: 17 in.
- Width at the lower bout: 28 1/2 in.
- Mensure (string length): 41 7/8 in.
