  • Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce ranging from medium to fine in graining
  • Back table is a two-piece plate of moderate curly maple
  • Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
  • Scroll and neck are original of moderate curly maple
  • Individual chrome plated tuners inlaid into the scroll with two tuners to a cheek
  • Varnish is reddish brown
  • This bass was commissioned and made for the late Bass pedagogue Robert Gladstone, former principal bassist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. A magnificent orchestral bass with great soloistic qualities.
