Boosey Hawkes Company Bass Violin
7/8 Size, Violin cornered, Round back
Made in London, England c. 1901
- Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce
- Back table is a two-piece plate of highly flamed maple with flames slightly descending the center joint
- Ribs of broad flamed maple
- Scroll and neck are original of moderately flamed maple
- Individual Baker style tuners mounted on brass plates
- Varnish is deep brownish amber with reddish hues
- This bass is a copy of a Vincenzo Panormo. Bass was previously owned by the late bass pedagogue Frederick Zimmermann.

- Overall body length: 45 1/2 in.
- Width at the upper bout: 21 1/2 in.
- Width at the center bout: 15 5/8 in.
- Width at the lower bout: 26 5/8 in.
- Mensure (string length): 41 7/8 in.
