Saxon Bass

Saxon Bass violin made circa. 1900 is a very impressive orchestral and jazz bass. The bass is a fine example of gamba shoulders, great projection, and is quite even throughout all registers. The Bass top is constructed from a two piece plate of fine spruce, with the back plate from maple with matching ribs. The scroll and neck are authentic, with German-style brass plate tuning mechanisms. The varnish is a lovely reddish amber color, and the bass is in fantastic shape.
