Guiseppi Fiorini Bass Violin Modified 7/8 Size, Violin-cornered, Roundback Model Made during G. Fiorini's period in Zurich, Switzerland c. 1920

  • Top table is a two-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce
  • Back table is a two-piece plate of moderately flamed maple
  • Fiorini "F" fashioned with inlaid purfling on back below the neck block button
  • Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
  • Scroll and neck are original of plain grained maple
  • Set up with Kolstein fingered extension
  • Brass plate tuning gears
  • Varnish is deep brownish amber
  • This instrument has a fine calibre, Italian sound typical of Fiorini with excellent depth, strong projection and evenness in all registers; a wonderful solo or orchestral bass.
