  • Back table is a two-piece plate of moderately flamed maple
  • Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table.
  • Original scroll of plain grained maple
  • Gears are brass with brass pegs
  • Varnish is a reddish brown
  • This fine Bass is a most impressive Orchestral Bass Violin with great solo capabilities. It offers deep lush projecting tone, quite even throughout the full registers of the instrument. It was made by the famed Bassist and Luthier Philip Sklar, prinicipal bassist of the NBC Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Arturo Toscanini
