  • Top table is a four-piece plate of medium vertical grained spruce
  • Back table is a two-piece plate of moderately figured poplar with traditional Tarantino decorative inlay below the neck block button
  • Ribs of matching poplar to that of the back table
  • Scroll and neck are original of slightly figured poplar and were made by Raphael Tarantino (Guiseppi's son)
  • Individual brass Baker-style tuning gears
  • Varnish is deep reddish amber
  • This instrument is one of the nicest examples of Guiseppi Tarantino's craftsmanship; extremely strong projection; great depth of tone; even in all registers; fine caliber orchestral or solo bass
  • Fully restored to excellent condition
  • Overall body length: 43 3/4 in.
  • Width at the upper bout: 19 1/2 in.
  • Width at the center bout: 15 1/8 in.
  • Width at the lower bout: 25 1/8 in.
  • Mensure (string length): 42 in.
