Hellmer School Violin Made in Prague, Czechoslovakia c. 1850

  • Top table is two-piece fine vertical grained spruce
  • Back table is two-piece moderately flamed maple with flames ascending from the center joint
  • Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
  • Scroll and neck are original of highly flamed maple
  • Varnish is deep reddish brown with amber hues
  • Strong projecting sound with great depth; a true "old world" sound.
  • Restored to excellent condition
  • Overall body length: 357 mm.
  • Width at the upper bout: 160 mm.
  • Width at the center bout: 110 mm.
  • Width at the lower bout: 200 mm.
