Top- 2 piece plate of fine vertical grained spruce
Back- 2 piece plate of highly flamed maple ascending at the center joint
Ribs are of matching maple to that of the back table
Neck and scroll are orignal of moderately flamed maple
Varnish- deep reddish brown with amber hues, antiqued
Comments: This fine instrument is perhaps the best example of this shops
workmanship. An exquisite quality of sound and a varnish that is
comparable to a fine master Italian violin of much higher cost
