Messori studied with Giuseppe Sgarbi from 1893, then was employed by Fiorini in Munich. He returned to Modena to set up his own workshop and received various awards for his work in international competitions. Messori was inspired primarily by the models of Amati and Guarneri. His work is lauded for its precision and detail.
