This instrument was made by Samuel Kolstein in 1964 for Frederick Zimmermann who lived May 18, 1906 to August 3, 1967 (Principal New York Philharmonic) and he sold it to Sam Hollingsworth (was principal bass of the Pittsburgh Symphony) who then sold it to Jeffrey Turner (who succeeded Mr. Hollingsworth as principal in the Pittsburgh Symphony).

This Bass has amazing projection of sound with incredible responsiveness. The bass has an excellent track record at successful Orchestral Auditions.
